R. Christopher Whalen -- Managing Director
Institutional Risk Analytics

Christopher is cofounder of Institutional Risk Analytics, the Los Angeles based provider of risk management tools and consulting services for auditors, regulators and financial professionals. Christopher leads IRA’s risk advisory practice and consults for global companies on a variety of financial and regulatory issues. He is a regional director of Professional Risk Managers International Association and is a board adviser to I-OnAsia, a global business security and risk consultancy based in Hong Kong. He currently edits The Institutional Risk Analyst, a weekly news report and commentary on significant developments in and around the global financial markets. Christopher regularly contributes articles and commentaries to publications such as The International Economy, SeekingAlpha, Barron’s and the American Banker.

 

Eugenio J. Alemán, Ph.D. -- Senior Economist & Vice President
Wells Fargo & Company

Dr. Eugenio J. Alemán is responsible for the analysis and forecasting of national, regional, and international economic trends. His principal focus is on the U.S. economy, interest rates, and the Texas economy. He also specializes in macroeconomics, economic development, international trade and finance, and Latin American economies, specifically Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. Dr. Alemán is also in charge of the analysis of the U.S. Hispanic market, the border-city economies engaged in trade with Mexico, and the Maquiladora manufacturing sector along the U.S.-Mexican border and its links to the U.S. manufacturing sector.

He has held posts as adjunct professor in Philadelphia, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has also worked in the petroleum industry and with Global Insight, one of the most important economics forecasting and consulting firms in the U.S.

 

David Walker -- President and CEO
ECCHO

Mr. Walker has more than 18 years experience in data processing and 25 years in banking.  He has worked with ECCHO since 1989 and currently serves as its President and CEO.  Mr. Walker has worked with almost every aspect of the development and passage of the Check 21 Act since early 2000.

Prior to ECCHO, Mr. Walker held a senior management position with First RepublicBank, a predecessor bank of Bank of America, where he managed domestic and international wire transfer, ACH, cash concentration, information reporting for all of the bank’s Texas locations.  Responsibilities also included IT for wire transfer and balance reporting, Fed Funds Trading and Fed/Due From Position management.  Mr. Walker also served as the Bank’s Daylight Overdraft Coordinator and managed all Daylight Overdraft processes.

Mr. Walker also spent 7 years with Electronic Data Systems, Inc. in various positions including Southeast Regional Operational Manager with responsibility for nine locations across the southeast.

Mr. Walker is a graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking and earned a BA in Economics from the University of Texas of Austin.

 

Alison Lyewski -- Group Vice President, Float Manager
SunTrust Bank

Ms. Lyewski is currently the Float Manager for SunTrust Bank.  In this role, she has overall responsibility for check clearing, customer float pricing, float research and customer service, Non-Earning Asset reporting, cash letter settlement, and Due From Correspondent Funding.  In addition, she is responsible for negotiating and executing any Image Exchange partner agreements, participates on the implementation team for Image Exchange, and facilitates the image volume ramp up as needed.

Before joining SunTrust in February 2002, Ms. Lyewski was the float manager for Wachovia.  While at Wachovia, Ms. Lyewski’s experience included Item Processing, Float Management, Due From Funding, Federal Reserve Account balancing, and Mail and Courier Services. 

Ms. Lyewski is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville.  She serves as the SunTrust representative for FRB National Account Servicing, ECCHO Operations Committee, NCHA, and the Viewpointe Users Group. 

 

Calvin Coady -- Executive Vice President
Bankers' Bank of Kansas

Currently serving as Executive Vice President and a member of Kansas Image Exchange (KIX) Team, Calvin Coady started work with Bankers’ Bank of Kansas in the Lending area of the bank 10 years ago. Migrating to Marketing he soon became the head of both Marketing and Business Development where he managed many of the bank’s strategic relationships with outside firms.  

Before joining Bankers’ Bank of Kansas, Calvin served as Senior Vice President of Credit and then became the President of a successful Community Bank.

 

John Connelly -- Senior Vice Presdient and Chief operating Officer
First National Banker's Bank

John Connelly started his banking career in 1985 at the First National Bank of Commerce in New Orleans, LA, working in the Transit Division of Items Processing.  He joined the Federal Reserve Bank in late 1985, and over the next 12 years worked in Accounting, ACH, Wire Transfer, Items Processing, Marketing, and Fedline.  John briefly worked at Texas Commerce Bank/Chase in Dallas, and then accepted an opportunity from First National Banker’s Bank in Baton Rouge as the Operations Manager, allowing him to return to Louisiana.  After eight years at FNBB, John joined Whitney National Bank in New Orleans as the Electronic Banking Manager.  John rejoined FNBB in May 2008 as Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. 

John attended the University of New Orleans, is a graduate of the BAI Graduate School of Bank Operations and Technology at Vanderbilt University, and has held his AAP Certification from NACHA since 2000.

 

Lisa Reynolds -- Senior Vice President, Operations Manager
Bankers' Bank Northeast

Elissa G. Reynolds (Lisa) has over 30 years in banking with 15 years of experience in managing bank operations and systems.  Lisa brings a high level of expertise in the implementation of systems solutions and the supervision of operations to this position.

Lisa is responsible for the overall management of the Bank's day-to-day operational activities, including the Bank's support staff and those services used by the client banks.  She works closely with the client banks as their technical consultant in the operational implementation of services.

Lisa has held officer positions at a number of Connecticut banks, including American Savings Bank, New England Bank, Glastonbury Bank & Trust, and SOLAR Services, Inc.  In addition to her operational experience, she has been involved in the technical direction, support and development of the bank’s business systems and has led a series of complex projects and upgrades including systems conversions and training.

She is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University.

 

Charlotte McLaughlin -- President and CEO
PNC Capital Markets, Inc.

Charlotte McLaughlin is president and chief executive officer of PNC Capital Markets, Inc., a member of The PNC Financial Services Group. McLaughlin is responsible for all aspects of PNC’s Capital Markets business, including product strategy, sales, risk management and financial accountability. McLaughlin has over 30 years of banking and securities industry experience. She joined PNC’s Corporate Banking business in July 1996 as senior vice president and managing director, responsible for the Derivatives Trading and Foreign Exchange groups. In August 2001, she assumed responsibility for Capital Markets. In 2005, her responsibilities expanded to include the newly founded Financial Institutions Group. Prior to joining PNC, McLaughlin served as manager of Global Rate Risk Management Products for Mellon Bank.

She is a director of the ABA Securities Association, Inc. in Washington, D.C. McLaughlin received her bachelor’s of science degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1975 and received a master's degree in business administration from University of Pittsburgh in 1981.

 

Eric Goering -- President and CEO

Matt Ribbens, CTP -- Expert, Mgr of the Cash Management Forum
Global Concepts

Matt Ribbens is a cash management (B2B/C2B payments) Expert for Global Concepts. He manages the Cash Management Forum, working with banking industry leaders and technology providers to advance the discussion and research of current treasury services issues and challenges. In 2006, Matt hosted Global Concepts first International Cash Management Roundtable to compliment the Cash Management Forum with a greater international scope.

Matt is the lead consultant in creating research reports for the Forum including studies on multifactor authentication, new product development, product implementations, remote check capture, ACH risk management and organizational structure and its relation to resource allocation. He is also a frequent contributor to Global Concepts Payments Strategy Research including research on corporate treasury needs, risk management and small business needs.

Matt is an industry speaker presenting at the Treasury Management Association of Canada (TMAC) and Digital Insights User Conference and has been reference in industry journals including the American Banker.

Prior to joining Global Concepts, Matt worked as a Research Manager for the Corporate Executive Board’s Corporate Finance Practice and prior to that as a Senior Research Analyst in its Financial Services Practice. In addition, Matt has worked in retail branch management for a large national bank.
